A Broken Heart Feels Like Pending Litigation

When a camera aperture opens through dust
And gyroscope top's got no patience
When wax apples are juicy and snap
And a broken heart feels like pending litigation.
When the gray clouds weigh heavily in your lower colon
And annunciated words sting like left hooks
When techni-color day-glo smells of mercaptan
And a broken heart feels like a serious crime.
When history text hits like a funhouse mirror
And stomach butterflies are well-mounted
When retching sinks into quotidian nausea
And a broken heart feels like violence reversed.
Time is a pit in the sky that even the dead cannot climb out.
The revolving gyres tire and rub away dried red clay
For every season there is a reason and doubt is this season's reason
Because nowadays, broken hearts feel like pending litigation.
